New Prescription Drug Cards to be issued in late December 2012

Effective January 1, 2013, the Prescription Drug Program provided through the District Council Ironworkers Funds of Northern New Jersey, administered by MagnaCareRx and MedImpact, will now be administered by MagnaCareRx and Prescription Corporation of America (PCA).  This is merely a change of claims administration.  There is no change in benefit design.  All co-payments, plan provisions and covered drugs remain the same.  You will have to provide your new MagnaCareRx I.D. Card at all pharmacies to fill any medications after 1/1/2013.

Your MagnaCareRx I.D. Card entitles you and your eligible dependents to purchase medications from your local pharmacy, through the RXDN Mail Order Program (800-800-8769), or through the MagnaCareRx Specialty Pharmacy (855-240-0830), (for self-injectable and oral medications for oncology or transplants).  Simply present your prescription and your new MagnaCareRx I.D. Card.   The pharmacist will process the prescription through the MagnaCareRx on-line claims system.

Specialty medications can be filled through the MagnaCareRx Specialty Pharmacy.   If you’re currently receiving medications through Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy, your information will be transferred to the MagnaCareRx  Specialty Pharmacy.  Initially, we advise that you have your specialty prescription faxed after 1/1/2013 by your Doctor only to the MagnaCareRx Specialty Pharmacy at: 855-983-5684 or it can be mailed to: MagnaCare Rx, 66 Ford Road, Denville, NJ 07834. You can also contact them by calling their toll free number 855-240-0830.

Members will also have access to the MagnaCareRx Member Website, where you can obtain prescription benefit and drug coverage detail to assist you in understanding your prescription plan better, as well as view the medications that are covered under the MagnaCareRx Formulary.  To get started after January 1, 2013, have your I.D. card available and log into MagnaCareRx by typing www.magnacareRX.com on your search engine and follow the registration prompts.

You will receive a new prescription card in the mail prior to January 1, 2013.  If you have any questions about your new pharmacy program, please contact a MagnaCareRx representative at 866-724-0964, who are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You may also contact the Fund Office at 973-376-7230.
